Recently, we went to a 3 days tour at a place where one can experience the calmness as well enjoy the adventurous activities. It was a very fantastic tour. And of course, was a great destination for clicking some nice photos.
The place is
Tarkarli, around 300 kms away from Mumbai. This place is in
Konkan, the beautiful coastal region in Maharashtra, India. As this is a coastal region, one can experience somewhat different and nice culture here. The livelihood of people here majorly depends on fishing, farming and tourism. People have made their houses as small resorts and also serves food there. One can easily get accommodation here in any season.
We were 8 people, including a small girl. We boarded a train from Panvel at late night. It was a konkan rail journey and we knew that it is going to be a one of the beautiful journey. We just wanted to enjoy the morning scenery and hence went to sleep immediately in train.
We woke up in the morning and were very delighted to see the outside atmosphere. It was a little bit cold and foggy atmosphere. There are a lot of tunnels on this journey which gives a very nice experience. One can see the greenery, small rivers, fields, uniquely built houses outside the train. Even the platforms are nicely built.

We reached to Kudal at around 9 am. Kudal is on the Goa route and the nearest approachable place, 30 kms from Tarkarli. One can go by bus or six sitters from Kudal to Tarkarli. We got the six sitter and it took us one hour to reach to Tarkarli.

We had already booked one private resort. The resort name was "Gajanan Niwas". It was a small and a very clean resort with almost all the required facilities. It was just 100 meters away from beach.

We had our breakfast after reaching at Tarkarli at around 11 am. Everybody was very excited to go to beach first. So we immediately left for the beach.
The beach in Tarkarli is very clean, calm and less crowded. Everybody entered the sea and and enjoyed freely.
Little angel Gargi, daughter of Nitin and Deepa, was very delighted to watch sea. She didn't take much time to realize that she can build the house from sand and immediately got busy into it. She enjoyed building sand house very much.

We came back to resort, took some rest. We had the evening tea, got ready and left for the Malwan for dinner. There is a very famous hotel in Malwan for sea food. Its called "Bamboo". Malwan is just 7 kms from Tarkarli. We boarded a local bus from Tarkarli to Malwan. Some of us ate the nice fish food there. Unfortunately, the famous Crab food was not available there in dinner. After dinner, we came back to resort by auto. Nitin had planned an adventurous activity for the next day morning. We discussed the next day's plan and went to sleep. That was the end of Day 1.
Next day, we woke up early and left for the walk at 6 am. Our destination was the place called "Sangam", where a river meets the sea. Sangam is around 8 kms away from Tarkarli. There is a transport available to go to Sangam. But we decided to walk along the beach to reach to our destination. When we started walking along the beach, it was still dark and moon was still there in the sky. It was really a rare scene to watch. Fishermen just came back from the fishing and were busy in sorting out the fishes. Along with fishes, they got a lot of crabs and a snake in their net. We had a small talk to the fishermen and proceed towards our destination. As the sun started coming up and we were approaching to our destinations, we saw a lot of different sea creatures like crabs, starfish, etc;.

It took us around 1 hour to reach to Sangam. We were amazed to see the scenery at Sangam. River meeting Sea. The water their was blue and very clean. One will expect the river water to be Sweet. But it was salted there. We took our breakfast there in one of the hotel at the edge of river, took some rest and again started our journey back to Resort. We walked half the distance and then everybody was tired. So we waited for the bus on a half way. We got the bus after some time and reached to resort.
We immediately headed for the next adventurous and most awaited activity - Scuba Diving. Most of us had the past experience of Scuba diving and hence everybody was excited to get that feeling again. The person who was supposed to take us to scuba was a professional one. He worked for the company Under Water Film Services, where he does the under water shooting for Films. He showed us the photos of shooting of film Dhoom 3, which he recently shot.
We reached at the spot in Malwan where one boat was supposed to take us to Scuba diving spot away from the beach. We boarded the boat and reached to spot. The instructors gave us the required instructions and we were ready to dive. First was me and Vikram. We did some practice to survive under water with the help of mask and instructors took us under the water. It was the lifetime experience. There is altogether a different world under water. Fishes with different shapes and colors, corals... just can't explain that feeling. We did some shooting under water and came up. I was very quiet when I came out of the water, because the feeling I just experienced was... amazing. Everybody of us did this activity and everyone has the same feeling like me. It took around 2 hours to complete this activity for all.
We went for the lunch in Bamboo again. Some of us had their favorite Crab food. After lunch, we went to resort and had the much needed rest there.

We had the evening tea and headed for the beach to see the Sunset. Sitting on the beach and watching the settling sun is one of my favorite activity. Me and Vikram also played the football there.
We came back to resort and planned to have dinner in the Resort Lawn. Aarti and Deepa proposed to play Dumb Charades. Some of us opposed to that initially. But once we started, everybody got involved in it. Everybody had a lot of laughter during the game. And the best acting award of the evening went to Praful :).
After finishing the dinner, we planned for the next day and went to sleep. That was the end of Day 2.
The next day activity was water sports. It was to be done on Tsunami beach, near the Sangam point. We boarded the bus from resort and reached to Sangam. We had the breakfast at Sangam, spent some leisure time and decided to go for Para-ceiling.

We went to Tsunami beach which was near to Sangam, by boat. The beach was created due to Tsunami and hence named as Tsunami beach. It was submerged in knee height water. Gargi liked it very much and enjoyed playing there. It was a very ideal place for clicking photos. Looking at that place, Model inside Rahul was awaken, I felt the photographer inside me and Director inside Deepa was awaken. We had a great
photo shoot there.

After some time, a speed boat came to receive us for para-ceiling. Its an adventurous activity where a speed boat takes you away from beach, deep in the sea. You are tied to parachute and left to fly in the sky with the help of rope. In addition to this, we also decided to take a deep, in which, you have been pulled down and drowned in water. We went in pairs for this activity, Vikram and Aarti, Nitin and Deepa, Me and Rahul. Praful went alone. Once he started flying, we all asked speed boat driver to give him a lot of deeps. And when we saw it actually happening. we just couldn't stop laughing.
It was really a fun activity.

We came back to resort in afternoon, had some fast food and had enough rest. We went to beach to watch the sunset again. Just experienced it by heart knowing that we will be leaving that place now. We left for Kudal at 7 pm. We just didn't want to end this picnic. The feeling of leaving that place was very sad :(.
We all had enjoyed the time spent during those 3 days. But the one who enjoyed the most was Gargi. And here are her different moods captured.
We missed a lot of other friends. If they would have been there, it would have been more fun.
